Fishing In The Winter Months

February 8, 2017adminNo Comments

Vancouver Fishing in the winter months can be interesting and productive. Target fish are feeder Springs, one, two, and three year olds. These fish are growing, young, healthy and full of energy. Sizes of your catch may vary from undersize under 25 inches, these must be released to keepers a minimum 25 inches.

A 10 to 12 pound feeder Spring can provide an exciting adventure, strong runs taking line and even jumps out from the water.

Feeder Springs are Nomadic and they move and follow their feed Herring, which at this time of year move about the local waters looking for places to spawn. Key to a good days fishing is finding the always moving Herring, trolling a little faster, deep with glow gear covering as much water as possible.

Last few days have been beautiful, flat water, cool and sunny. Many catches unfortunately mostly undersize with just a few keepers. Never get tired enjoying the Local Winter scenery, snow topped mountains.

Crank the heater, dress warmly and your favourite hot drink. Good times …….
