These past few weeks, fishing has been good to not so good depending on which area you were concentrating on. All the known areas have gone from hot to cold and hot again. The best option is to move around until you find the fish.
Catches have been good most days, sizes from shakers to 20 pounds. This time of year the feeder Springs tend to be an average 10 to 12 pounds range. Fun to catch and a good size for eating. Most will agree the Winter feeder Springs are the best eating.
Spring is on it’s way, milder temperatures, sunshine and relatively calm seas. However we are still getting the odd stormy rainy days. These days are more productive and better spent tied to the dock.
Forecasts for this years Spring fishery are very positive not long before the South side of Bowen Island and the Gulf Islands light up. Feeder Springs averaging 15 to 20 pounds. We currently have many opening for the Spring Fishery, book early to secure your reservation for your specific day.
